Live Consensus Sessions

Professionally planned and supported Real-Time Delphi decision-making for conferences, workshops, advisory boards, committees, and leadership meetings.

Structured decision-making while the group is together

A Live Consensus Session uses a Real-Time Delphi-style process during a conference, workshop, advisory board, committee, or leadership meeting. Participants respond independently, review anonymized group feedback, and can reconsider their position while the session is still in progress.

The goal is not to force consensus. The process helps the group see where views converge, where disagreement remains, and which issues require further discussion or follow-up.

A standard engagement may include

Session planning

Planning meeting, decision-objective review, session structure, timing, participant workflow, and moderator coordination.

Question preparation

Preparation and refinement of statements, options, priorities, rating scales, comments, and reconsideration prompts.

Surveylet configuration

Session-specific Surveylet setup, participant instructions, access workflow, feedback displays, and testing.

Technical rehearsal

One rehearsal or run-through to validate the participant experience, moderator flow, timing, and result display.

Live support

Remote facilitation or technical moderation, participation monitoring, response review, and support during the session.

Post-session outputs

Data exports and a concise summary of results, consensus, disagreement, and priority findings as defined in the engagement.

How the session works

Independent responseParticipants evaluate statements, options, priorities, or recommendations from their own device before group dynamics shape their answer.
Anonymized group feedbackThe group reviews response distributions, consensus indicators, comments, or other controlled feedback without identifying individual participants.
Discussion where usefulThe moderator can focus attention on uncertainty, disagreement, or areas where additional context is needed.
ReconsiderationParticipants can revise or confirm their response after reviewing the group's feedback.
Documented outcomeThe session produces a structured record of convergence, disagreement, priorities, and unresolved issues.

Best-fit uses

Conferences & workshops

Turn an audience or working group into an active, structured decision-making panel.

Expert advisory boards

Collect independent expert input before discussion and document how views change after feedback.

Committees & leadership groups

Support priority setting, recommendations, standards, strategic choices, or unresolved options.

Research agenda development

Prioritize research questions, evidence gaps, outcomes, or future initiatives.

Standards & policy development

Structure complex group judgments where multiple perspectives need to be documented.

Large-group deliberation

Give every participant an independent voice instead of relying only on those who speak first or most often.

Custom engagement: Session scope depends on participant count, duration, question complexity, facilitation needs, reporting requirements, and whether support is remote or on-site. Contact Calibrum for a tailored quote.
